About This Tool
Calculate a gratuity and split the full bill without doing percentage math at the table. Enter the bill amount, choose a tip rate, and set the number of people to see the tip, final total, and equal per-person amount. The calculator is useful for restaurant checks, delivery tips, service bills, and quick comparisons, but it does not decide local tipping customs, service-charge rules, or unequal shares for different orders.

How the tip is calculated
Tip amount equals the bill multiplied by the tip percentage divided by 100. The final total is the bill plus the tip.
How the split works
The per-person amount divides the full bill plus tip by the number of people. It assumes everyone pays an equal share and does not track individual orders, separate subtotals, or who paid for shared items.
Tax and service charges
Some people tip on the pre-tax subtotal and others tip on the final charged amount. Check whether your entered bill already includes tax or a service charge.
Rounding the final amount
The calculation may produce fractions of a cent before display rounding. Real payments usually need currency rounding, and splitting a rounded total can leave a one-cent difference that one person may need to cover.
Local tipping customs vary
Appropriate gratuity depends on country, venue, service type, and whether a service charge is already included. The calculator does not recommend a required percentage.

Can I split between several people?
Yes. Enter the number of people to see an equal per-person share of the bill plus tip.
Should I tip on tax?
Practices vary. If you prefer to tip on the pre-tax subtotal, enter that subtotal as the bill amount.
What if a service charge is already included?
Check the receipt before adding another gratuity. A mandatory or discretionary service charge may already cover some or all of the expected tip.
Does the split account for different orders?
No. It divides the total equally. For unequal shares, calculate each person's portion separately.
Why does the per-person amount have extra decimals?
Some totals do not divide evenly by the number of people. Round each share to your currency's smallest payment unit and make sure the rounded shares still cover the total.
Can I use this for delivery or service bills?
Yes. The math works for any bill where you want to add a percentage tip, but local customs and included fees can differ by service type.
