Annual hours = hours per week × weeks per year. Hourly equivalent = annual gross salary ÷ annual hours. For 40 hours and 52 weeks, annual hours are 2,080.
Weekly, biweekly, and monthly figures
Weekly equivalent divides annual salary by the entered weeks per year, biweekly is twice that weekly figure, and monthly equivalent divides annual salary by 12. These periods describe gross arithmetic equivalents and may not match an employer's actual payroll calendar.
Daily assumption
Daily equivalent assumes the entered weekly hours are spread across five workdays, so daily hours equal weekly hours ÷ 5. A four-day or irregular schedule will have a different per-workday amount even when the hourly rate is unchanged.
Gross pay is not take-home pay

Use the weeks value that matches the comparison you are trying to make. A salary paid across a full year may include paid leave even though fewer than 52 weeks are actively worked. Different choices change the implied hourly value, so state the assumption when comparing offers.
