About This Tool
Resize an image to exact pixel dimensions without uploading it to a server. The tool supports PNG, JPEG, and WebP input, can preserve the original aspect ratio, and lets you export as PNG, JPEG, or WebP. Processing stays in your browser, which keeps personal photos and graphics on your device.
How To Use It
- Choose a PNG, JPEG, or WebP image up to 25 MB.
- Enter the new width or height in pixels. Keep the aspect ratio locked to update the other dimension automatically.
- Choose an output format and, for JPEG or WebP, adjust the quality setting.
- Select Resize image, review the preview and output details, then download the resized file.
Examples
Scale a photo for a website
Reduce a 4000 × 3000 photo to 1200 × 900 while keeping its 4:3 proportions and export a smaller WebP file.
Create an exact social image
Turn off aspect-ratio locking and enter the exact required width and height. The image will stretch to fit, so crop it beforehand if distortion is undesirable.
Convert while resizing
Load a PNG and export the resized result as JPEG or WebP. Transparent areas become white when JPEG is selected.
Useful Notes
Aspect ratio and stretching
Aspect-ratio locking preserves the image's proportions as you change width or height. If you unlock it and choose a different ratio, the tool stretches the full image rather than cropping it.
Format and quality
PNG is lossless and supports transparency. JPEG usually works well for photographs but does not support transparency. WebP can provide smaller files while retaining good visual quality. The quality control affects JPEG and WebP only.
Privacy and browser limits
The selected image is decoded and resized locally with your browser's canvas. It is not uploaded by this tool. Outputs are limited to 16,384 pixels per side and 64 megapixels to reduce browser crashes and excessive memory use.
FAQ
Does resizing upload my image?
No. Image decoding, resizing, previewing, and export happen locally in your browser.
Why did my transparent background turn white?
JPEG cannot store transparency, so the tool fills transparent areas with white. Choose PNG or WebP when you need transparency.
Does the tool crop the image?
No. It scales the full image. When aspect-ratio locking is off, dimensions with a different ratio will stretch the image instead of cropping it.
Why can the downloaded file be larger than the original?
File size depends on dimensions, format, image complexity, and quality. Enlarging an image or choosing PNG can produce a larger file even though the visual detail does not increase.
