Useful Notes
Pascal is the SI pressure unit
The pascal (Pa) is one newton per square meter. Because a pascal is small for many practical measurements, kilopascals (1,000 Pa) and megapascals (1,000,000 Pa) are common in specifications and engineering work.
Bar, psi, and standard atmosphere
Bar is defined as exactly 100,000 Pa. The standard atmosphere is exactly 101,325 Pa. This converter uses 1 psi = 6,894.757293168 Pa, allowing all supported units to be normalized through pascals before conversion.
Torr and mmHg are close but not identical definitions
One Torr is defined as exactly 1/760 of a standard atmosphere. This converter represents mmHg with 133.322387415 Pa per mmHg, so it does not silently treat mmHg and Torr as mathematically identical.
A unit conversion does not change the pressure reference
Pressure can be reported as absolute pressure or relative to another reference, such as atmospheric pressure.
